Another milestone in a growing international partnership

ÅMÅL, Sweden — Håkansson Sågblad AB (HSAB), part of the industrial group Munkfors Industri AB, has received the largest single order in the company’s history from a leading international industrial group — the latest and most significant step in a partnership that began in February 2025.

Since its inception, the partnership has been shaped by technical testing, product development, quality initiatives, and commercial deliveries. The new order confirms the customer’s continued and deepening confidence in HSAB as a strategic supplier.

“This is further proof that the long-term, diligent work our employees have invested is truly delivering results. The fact that a leading international industrial group is returning and expanding the partnership is the strongest possible validation that we are delivering the right quality, the right expertise, and the right service.”
— Anders Uttersäv, CEO, Håkansson Sågblad AB

“We have built a relationship founded on mutual trust and technical expertise. This order shows that the customer sees HSAB as a long-term partner, not merely a supplier. We are proud of that.”
— Ward Parsons, Marketing Manager, Håkansson Sågblad AB

HSAB is currently the only manufacturer of bimetal bandsaw blades in the Nordic region and exports its products to customers in more than 60 countries. Its operations in Åmål are at the heart of the technical development behind this success. For a company of HSAB’s size, this represents a significant milestone and strong confirmation that Swedish industrial expertise remains highly competitive internationally.

This order demonstrates that European manufacturers can lead and grow — even in a challenging market — by focusing on quality, innovation, and productivity, supported by strong relationships and close collaboration with customers around the world.

This development comes at a time when large parts of the European engineering industry have been affected by weak market conditions. The bandsaw blade industry is closely linked to investment in manufacturing — and particularly the automotive sector — where many European players have faced significant challenges in recent years.

“It is important to remember that our industry has been under pressure for quite some time. Demand has been weak across many markets, and several companies in the sector have faced significant challenges. Only a few weeks ago, one of the larger players in our industry — with annual revenue of around SEK 800 million — filed for bankruptcy. Against that backdrop, the confidence shown by this business partner feels especially meaningful.”
— Anders Uttersäv, CEO, Håkansson Sågblad AB

To meet future demand, the company is now evaluating various investment and capacity options as part of its long-term planning. The aim is to ensure continued high quality, delivery reliability, and profitable growth.

“This is an important milestone for HSAB. At the same time, we see it as the beginning of the next phase in the partnership. Our focus now is to continue delivering with high quality, further strengthen the relationship with the customer, and ensure that we have the right conditions in place for long-term, profitable growth.”
— Anders Uttersäv, CEO, Håkansson Sågblad AB
